Tim was born in Canada and moved with my family to New Zealand in 2011. He was living a great life in Canada but an adventure was calling. While searching for this adventure, Yoga became extremely important to my life and ultimately the adventure he was seeking.e-
Tim has been involved with yoga for 10 years and has been actively teaching for 5 years. Tim has developed a unique style of yoga emphasizing breath, strength, power yet intertwining this with mindfulness and clarity. He is an E-RYT 200 and YACEP with Yoga Alliance. Tim teaches a variety of classes, at the Loft, from our Power class through our more relaxing classes like Yin, Stretch or Unwind. Tim also has a passion for SUP Yoga and you’ll find him on the water whenever he can be. Tim has taught classes, workshops, and various festivals all over New Zealand. Alyse is the backbone to the Loft Studio, she does a lot of background work to make the studio run smoothly. Alyse is also a Physiotherapist and Director of M3 Clinic, who we share the building with. Alyse has a passion for rehabilitation and helping people recover from injury and achieve their best.
Alyse is currently transitioning to life as a mother and is spending most of her time with baby River. You may catch her from time to time at the studio or M3 Clinic.email@example.com
Jacinta has been passionate about health & wellbeing from a young age. She started practicing yoga in her early teenage years through her mum, an experienced yoga teacher herself. Jacinta has fallen in the love with the practice of Vinyasa yoga, also called flow yoga and is not afraid to incorporate other styles in her classes and own practice.
Besides Vinyasa yoga, she enjoys sharing the beautiful practices of Yin Yoga and Prenatal and Postnatal yoga. Since the birth of her son Ivo, she has become passionate about Mums ‘n’ Bubs yoga and yoga for women. In her classes, you can expect to be challenged, to have fun, to relax, to build up strength, quiet the mind and connect with your inner self. Jacinta aims to create a loving and nourishing atmosphere where students feel welcome and are encouraged to be exactly how they are.
Zoe is a passionate, inspired, spunky and wild yoga teacher. She is a medically trained doctor from you UK. She has been practicing yoga for about 5 years now. What started off as a “gentle stretching” for a sports injury has turned into a deep love for everything which yoga embodies; feeling present, listening to the body and breathing.
Zoe completed her 200hr teacher training in Rishikesh, India and draws on ancient and modern wisdom in her classes. Zoe’s passion is teaching yoga, diving, and training for Ironman Competitions. In her classes you can expect a strong set of asanas, syncing the breath and movement to an eclectic mix of music. Get ready to challenge “typical” yoga and release your expectations.

Sonya completed her 200hr RYT with Yandara Yoga in 2015 in Hawaii. She leads a dynamic yoga class and you will see her many times substituting for classes. Currently she isn’t leading a regular class but fills in for teachers when they have other commitments. Sonya has a passion for Essential Oils and loves to fuse these oils with her yoga practice.
Sonya works for WDC and has three wonderful children. Originally from Canada, she now lives on the Tutukaka Coast with her firefighter/yoga instructor husband, Tim.
Olya was introduced to yoga in 2002 on Waiheke Island. With a background in physical activities, like ballet, running, skiing and fitness classes, she attended her first yoga class out of curiosity. She was instantly hooked and has been practicing yoga ever since.
Olya has studied various styles, teachings and techniques and found that is was consistent practice, itself, that led her to gaining yoga’s true benefits. Olya’s special interest is in the therapeutic effects of yoga and she loves to share what she has learnt with others.
Born in the Ukraine, Olya moved to New Zealand in 1998. It is here where she found the love of nature and the need to live in harmony with it. After creating a successful career in IT, Olya is now finding a more balanced way of living, where she spends more time surfing, with her friends, and developing a lifestyle that is kinder and more in tune with the environment. Expect a class with Olya to fuse yoga with a fun and exciting practice to bring about a new experience on your mat, and in your life.
Mia is a certified Pilates Instructor and holds diplomas in Anatomy and Physiology, Massage. She also has certifications in Naturopathy and Nutrition. Her interest in Pilates began 12 years ago after being introduced to it for injury rehabilitation. She fell in love with the exercises and how they transformed her life.
With a background in yoga and meditation, her classes infuse the principles of mindfulness and breath awareness to develop flexibility, muscle tone and strength throughout the body.
Mia also specializes in using Pilates for injury rehabilitation.
Mia’s passion is to help people experience the benefits of Pilates, and then use it to bring positive change to their lives.
Ying Jie Ow
Ying Jie is one of our pilates instructors and teaches a fusion of classical pilates with a sense of enthusiasm and fun. She will help you build a strong core and teach you to focus your breath to create lean, strong muscle.
Ying Jie lives on a lifestlyle block in Northland with her partner. She can be found there whenever she isn’t leading a Pilates class. Ying Jie is currently on maternity leave and is enjoying life as a mum. We look forward to bringing Ying Jie back to the Loft in the future.
