Infrared SaunaTHE HEAT ROOM AT KAMO
What is infrared heat therapy?
Infrared heat therapy improves muscle endurance and recovery, reduces chronic pain and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, helps to lower blood pressure, improves circulation and blood flow, and boosts mood. Unlike traditional saunas that use steam to heat the body on the outside, an infrared sauna uses light to create heat from the inside out. An infrared sauna produces results at lower temperatures than a regular sauna, which makes it accessible to people who can’t tolerate the heat of a conventional sauna.
Because infrared light rays penetrate the body up to 3-4cm, there is a deep heating effect in the muscle tissues of the body. Our body reacts to the increased heating through the natural cooling process of perspiring. Through the perspiration process, acid and waste residue like toxins, sodium, alcohol, nicotine, cholesterol, and the potentially carcinogenic heavy metals are removed from the cells.
The health benefits of Infrared Sauna…
Studies of regular infrared (IR) sauna use have also found these positive health outcomes:
Improved Heart Function
Evidence shows that the use of an infrared sauna can help to normalise blood pressure and cholesterol levels, treating congestive heart failure, and helping with chronic pain. Therefore, an infrared sauna is a great way to help prevent high blood pressure and improve heart health.
Helps Lower Chronic Pain
Infrared heat treatment can help to reverse chronic pain with little to no side effects. Research suggests regular IR treatments are well tolerated and can decrease pain symptoms and stiffness in the body. IR treatments have also been shown to decrease fatigue, leading to a significant short-term beneficial effect on the body.
Lowers Side Effects of Diabetes
Studies show that IR use is associated with improved quality of life in people with type 2 diabetes, even when compared to other lifestyle interventions. People with diabetes often suffer from complications such as chronic fatigue syndrome, pain, depression, congestive heart failure and other heart problems. Sauna treatment seems to improve pain threshold and contributes to overall well-being.
For many years, people suffering from chronic pain have used thermal heating treatments to find relief and improve their quality of life. Studies have found that regular and repeated thermal therapy is ideal for lowering chronic pain without the need for medication.
