My journey into the world of yoga began while attending classes and working at The Loft. The positive impact it had on teachers and students fueled my curiosity. The more I delved into it, the clearer the benefits of this practice became.
With a background in sports, I was particularly excited about how yoga contributes to injury prevention and enhances the longevity of sporting careers. The belief in our bodies' incredible capabilities has fascinated me, and I am committed to helping others, as well as myself, tap into newfound energy through yoga.
In 2019, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Melbourne. Since then, my passion for yoga has only increased, and I'm eager to share the joy it brings with our community.
Join me on this journey at Loft Yoga Studio, where we embrace wellness, strength, and the joy of living fully.

Originally from Germany, Marie fell in love with New Zealand's beauty. A lifelong athlete, she discovered yoga while competing in vaulting (gymnastics on a horse) to improve strength and mobility.
During her sports science studies, yoga became essential in managing stress.
Now, as an exercise physiologist, she emphasizes the importance of mindful movement for overall well-being.
In 2020, Marie completed her yoga teacher training with Yoga KOH in New Zealand.
When she's not at the studio, you’ll likely find her surfing or spending time with horses.

My yoga journey began 15 years ago, inspired by a challenge from my wife, Rouve', to touch my toes. Despite years of dedicated training in aikido, cycling, and gym workouts, I barely reached my knees—a humbling start.
In 2018, we moved to New Zealand and discovered The Loft Studio, which soon became a significant part of my life. Wanting to expand my practice, I completed a 200-hour YTT at Sattva Yoga Academy in Rishikesh in December 2022 and have been teaching since. I see myself not as a teacher but a guide, encouraging students to listen to their bodies as the true teacher.
As BKS Iyengar said, “Yoga does not just change the way we see things; it transforms the person who sees.”

Kia ora! Lovely to see you, I’m Kelena – you can call me Lena (said ‘Len-na’). The name Kelena comes from the Niuean language, where my family is from..
In my classes we'll use yoga to enhance the natural flow of the body, allowing free movement through asana, to find meditation & stillness throughout your practice. I encourage the use of yoga to improve all dimensions of wellbeing, in class you'll notice I often use essential oils and sound to stimulate the senses and keep you present throughout.
I look forward to seeing you in the Studio soon!

After years of practicing yoga, I began my teacher training in 2021 to deepen my understanding of yoga philosophy. I came to the mat seeking peace of mind and found that through embodying yoga principles, we can carry that peace into our daily lives. This is why I’m passionate about sharing yoga with others.
I completed my 200-hour training with Online Yoga School alongside my Reiki Master Practitioner studies. I love integrating my knowledge of yoga and Reiki to guide classes that promote chakra balance.
Outside the studio, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and children or connecting with nature.

I’ve practiced yoga for many years and have experience in a broad range of yoga styles, following the Satyananda Yoga tradition with a focus on pranayama, Kundalini, and tantric meditation.
My journey has taken me across Aotearoa and beyond, teaching, studying, and working with movement, creative arts, and performance projects.
As a holistic movement practitioner, personal trainer, artist, and teacher, I’ve taught styles like Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, Ashtanga, Restorative/Yin, and Yoga for athletes. My passion lies in helping others through yoga and movement, guiding them from injury or stress back into the activities they love.

Yoga philosophy inspired my teaching journey, beginning with a life-changing year-long Diploma from Wellpark College in 2010. This foundation led me to further studies in Yoga Therapy, and I later completed Levels 2 and 3 (300 hours) with Ashram Yoga in Tamaki Makaurau.
I have a particular interest in the energetic body and love exploring the subtle realms through embodied movement and dance, which I bring into my daily yoga practice. This journey has sparked a deep passion for self-healing and integration.
In my classes, I aim to cultivate self-awareness and encourage attendees to work intuitively with their bodies.
Outside teaching, I’m passionate about building the ecstatic dance community in Northland, being a mother, and spending time with family. I love exploring Aotearoa’s natural beauty, creating music, and celebrating how music enriches life.

Katie Greengrass is deeply committed to learning and sharing the wisdom of traditional Yoga. With years of dedicated practice and study, including around 3 years spent in India, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every class.
Katie believes that Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, size, shape and fitness level. After all, the bodywork we do in Asana practice is the means, not the end. Yoga is more closely related to psychology than fitness.
Her teaching style is diverse, she has experience across the board from the more Western style of Yoga (Vinyasa, Power, Yin) to very traditional Indian Hatha Yoga, and always teaches with presence, breath & a goal of self-exploration

With 15 years as a yoga practitioner, I have dedicated myself to the healing arts to awaken to my true purpose and help others reach theirs. My journey began with Bikram yoga and evolved through classical training in Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa.
In 2012, I embarked on a transformative trip to Rishikesh, India, I joined Rishikul Yogshala. Immersed in the teachings of yogic philosophy, asana, meditation, and pranayama, I experienced firsthand the profound benefits of yoga. This led me to deepen my commitment, completing 200 hours of AYA-accredited teacher training in 2017 and an additional 300 hours in 2020.
My teaching emphasizes the core principles of Hatha yoga, focusing on Shatkarmas (Purification), Asanas (Postures), Mudras (Energy Manipulation), and Pranayama (Breath Control). I am passionate about sharing these practices to help others experience clarity, balance, and peace on their own journeys.

As a passionate runner and gym enthusiast, I knew my body needed something more—and that’s when I took my first yoga class at The Loft.
It turned into the perfect investment in myself, supporting not just my fitness journey but my overall health and well-being.
After completing my 200-hour teacher training at the House of OM, I’ve embraced various styles of yoga, focusing on breath awareness, building strength, stability, and bringing ease to everyday movement. One of my favorite mantras is to "invest in yourself," which resonates in both life and yoga.
I look forward to continuing my yoga journey with you at The Loft Studio..

After a series of back injuries in 2013, I turned to yoga for rehabilitation and never looked back! I've been practicing the 26&2 series for the past six years and became a qualified teacher through the Original Hot Yoga Association.
I'm passionate about teaching 26&2 for its focus on stability, back strength, and enhancing focus and concentration. I believe this series fosters personal growth, and I’m excited to support students on that journey.
Originally from the Bay of Plenty, I moved to Whangarei in 2020 to embrace a new lifestyle and run a small farm with my husband. Outside the studio, you’ll find me mountain biking at Waitangi or exploring Northland’s beautiful hiking trails.
